Minnesota

I was joking about the storm shelter here at camp in MN (actually there are 2!), however here we sit inside our big tin can riding out a storm. Relatively minor one to the Midwesterners, I'm sure. Probably will not necessitate a visit to the shelter.

This place (Kamp Del is the name) is interesting. We're pretty remote, sitting on a lake and basically full of farm (and some wild) animals roaming all around camp (most are fenced). The kids are loving it. There are even deer being held captive, they come right up to you at the fence obviously looking to be fed. Weird to be so close to a deer. Keep thinking that my Uncle Tommy and Will would love to be here... easy hunting ;)

This definitely has a different flavor to it than the other camps we've been to. I think that's primarily because we were at campsites within close proximity to National Parks. These are full-fledged local campers, including many full-timers. Once the storm clears, I think we'll have fun here. We're hoping to have a campfire tonight and roast marshmallows. They're showing "Casper" tonight as apparently it's Halloween Week here (???) and they're sticking with the theme. In addition, there's a great pool (with clean water this time!) and water park... a little bit of everything! Hoping for sunny skies soon...

Will take pix of all the great amenities and share soon.

  1. Enjoy your last camping nights - is there another trip in your future? Have you gotten the hang of cooking in the rv or are you going out for meals? Is there pizza delivery to campgrounds?

  2. We'll definitely do this again... perhaps not quite as far, though. RV cooking got much easier once we learned to remove the smoke detector before cooking! It's right over the stove top. We've had most of our meals here. They do have pizza at this campground... sounds good! Hope you're doing well, Shelly.
